Is Anxiety just a part of our modern society that we should just “deal with”?
My answer to that question is a loud and resounding NO! Anxiety may be a part of our modern society, however, it does not have to be a hardship. It does not have to define your life! You, and your body, are capable of handling what life throws our way. Now, you may have to help it along, at certain more ‘stressful’ points in time with better nutrition, by adding some adaptogenic herbs and roots and incorporating some breathwork and/or meditation practices.
But you can free yourself from anxiety. It is doable. It is possible.
There’s a quote I love by Lao Tzu:
“If you’re depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present moment.”
I know that “Depression” is a chemical imbalance in the brain. However, I have found that all ‘dis-ease’ has an energetic component. Therefore, depression must have one too. I have also seen and experienced significant changes in the wellbeing of myself and my clients through changes in what one eats and how one lives. Food and Lifestyle.
It’s true that some people are just wired to be high-strung and anxious. However there are more and more studies backing up the fact that we can turn genes on and off through our nutrition, lifestyle and by incorporating mindfulness practices.
